A   B.H.S. Approved Training Centre
Naburn Grange is a small family run BHS Approved Training Centre. It has been established on this site since 1980. It is located in quiet picturesque countryside by a river, only 4 miles from the centre of York. There is easy access to the beautiful city of York, via bus or car. Other attractions available locally are fishing, golf, swimming, cinema, sightseeing, shopping and colleges providing English courses. The Riding Centre
The centre caters for small groups and individuals, adults and children, from beginners to advanced, providing a personalised service, from qualified, friendly staff. The holiday can be tailored to suit your needs and requirements, whether you want to learn to ride, improve your level and knowledge or just to have some fun.
The quality horses and ponies are well schooled and good mannered, with many being home bred. Many of the horses and ponies compete at Riding Club / Pony Club level, with some competing successfully at BSJA Grade C, and Novice and Intermediate Eventing.
HackingThere is good hacking available off road and through woodland. For lessons there is an indoor school, outdoor arena (60m x 40m), showjumping course and cross country, including banks and ditches. There are competitions held at the centre throughout the summer, which you may be able to enter.

Holidays
Accomodation Inside Holidays are available throughout the year, except Christmas and New Year. Short breaks are available mid-week and weekly stays run from Sunday to Saturday. There is no limit to the number of weeks you can stay. The course includes riding and stable management tuition from Monday to Friday, with approximately four hours per day. Sorry, weekend breaks are not available!
Extra riding may be available in evenings and at the weekend for no extra cost. On the Friday there is a chance to enter a small competition, with rosettes to all, and Progress Tests with certificates. The Bedrooms
You may want to 'own a pony' for the week, or change which horse you ride each time. You may like to be involved in a fun day, having a go at Western, side-saddle, bareback, or a gymkhana.

We have had many happy clients who have returned again year after year. We have regular visitors from the USA, Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland and Great Britain.

Lessons and Training

Why not take up a career with horses? We provide a wide range of career training for BHS exams.

We cater for beginners to advanced, adults and children. Lessons are day time, evenings and weekends. These can be learning to ride and improving your levels in dressage, jumping or X-Country or going hacking. Private or group tuition is available. Daily and weekly riding courses are obtainable throughout the year. Quality well-schooled horses and ponies up to elementary dressage, grade C show jumping and intermediate eventing. Lessons are available on your own horse or pony.

Training can be given up to B.H.S.A.I. and for Pony Club and Riding Club Examinations. Training courses are available for students, working pupils, part time, evening, holidays and short courses. We have a selection of horses for you to gain experience handling. These include a Thoroughbred stallion, broodmares and foals, youngstock and schoolmasters.

Livery and schooling

Livery is available for horses and ponies, either full, DIY, hunting, competition, grass and breaking and schooling. Schooling can be up to elementary dressage, grade C show jumping and intermediate eventing. The centre is protected by a security system and is under 24 hour supervision. The facilities are available for use, including horsewalker, indoor and outdoor arenas.
